Weekly Update: 8/24/2011

Special Youth Devo: We had over 25 teens attend the back to school devo this past Sunday. Pray for our teens and our school teachers that this school year starts and goes smoothly. Take a moment to praise your teen and their teacher to be a guide and positive example to others.

Family Work Day: We would like to encourage all families and teens to participate in the Foster’s Home work day scheduled for Saturday, August 27th. We have several families signed up. This is a great opportunity to be of service to others and increase your families spiritual growth.

Family Game Night: Sunday, August 28th following the evening service, we will have a pot-luck dinner. Bring enough to feed a family. David Sanders will be directing our devotional before family time. Everyone is invited to attend.

Back to School Bash: On Sunday, September 4th, after the morning worship, we will be going to Amazing Jake’s in Plano. Sign-up in the classrooms or in the foyer. Cost is $25 per person which includes food and attractions. In order to keep this discounted price, it is important to sign up. This price is for groups of 15 or more people. Please sign-up!

Final Thought: Be careful in the attitudes we feed our children. No matter how intelligent, talented or athletic a child may be. . .there’s no substitute for a child having a positive attitude towards others. Let’s not feed our children with sour opinions, poisonous feelings or wilted enthusiasm. Instead feed them with the best and positive ideas, expressions of feeling and opinions we have. Proverbs 20:7 states “ the just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.”
