Weekly Update: 7/27/11

Operation Mission-Minded: Three days this past week approximately 20 of our youth members took part in an area of service in the Waxahachie -Dallas area. The theme was to serve God by helping others. We appreciate all the adult sponsors who helped make the mission a success.

Multi-Purpose Room: The scheduled MPR for Thursday, July 28th has been cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday, August 4th. MPR will be open from 6:00 -8:30 PM. Bring your dinner and a guest we are going to play sardines.

Youth Group T-Shirts: Order your “2471” youth group T-shirt. Order forms are in Bible classes and foyer or see Tammy Pope. Cost is only $10. Deadline is Sunday, July 31st.

Youth Devo: On Sunday, July 31st, the Grandview Church of Christ invites all ICC campers, staff (and anyone else that wants to attend) to a camp worship in Grandview. The bus will leave from the building at 3:00 PM and return at 8:30 PM. Supper will be provided.

Summer Youth Series: UPDATE!! SYS will be at the Northwest Church of Christ on Tuesday, August 2nd. Our own, Paul O'Rear, will be leading the devotional. The bus will leave at 5:30 PM and return at 9:30 PM. Bring your Bible and a guest. Dinner is provided.

Remember, August 9th, Brown Street will host the final SYS of the summer. We need volunteers to be of service. Look for sign-up sheets in Bible classes.

Family Game Night: We want all families to attend FGN on Sunday, August 7th. We are going to play Minute to Win It. Teens vs. Parents. Parents we need help to beat the teens.

Weekly Update: 7/20/2011

Local Mission Work: Approximately 15 of our youth will be involved in local mission activities this week. Please pray this will be a success and our youth grow in the spirit of the Lord.

Families: We will be going to the Texas Ranger baseball game on Friday, July 22nd. Call the church office or Harry Walden if you are interested in going. Cost is $10.

The next Family Game Night will be Sunday, July 31st after the evening service. Mark your calendar.

Kids for Christ (KFC) Cookout: We will leave the building at 5:30 PM, Saturday, July 23rd and go to Wooten Lake to eat hot dogs, enjoy fellowship and a devo. We’ll return to the building by 9:00 PM. All parents are welcome to attend. Bring your lawn chairs.

Weekly Update: 7/13/2011

Multi-Purpose Room: MPR will be opened this Thursday July 14th from 6 -8:30 PM. Bring your dinner and a friend. Wear clothes suitable for a water activity.

Youth Devo: Sunday, July 17th. There will be devo at the Chris Underwood home following the evening service. Boys bring chips and girls bring desserts. The bus will return to the building at 8:45 PM.

Summer Youth Series: Tuesday, July 19th, the SYS will be at the Brown Trail Church of Christ. The bus will leave the building at 5:30 PM and return home by 9:30 PM. Bring your Bible and a guest. Dinner is provided.

alone in the light.” In Psalm 23 it says that even when walking through the valley of death do not be afraid, for God is close beside us guarding and guiding our way.

Youth Mission Activity

DATES: Wednesday through Friday, July 20-22, 2011

This will be a great opportunity to serve, while getting service projects or community service hours.

Here's the schedule:

Wed. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Go to Mission Printing in Arlington
Thur. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Help cook Thursday meals, eat lunch, then go to Christian Care in Mesquite to help with Bingo
Fri. 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Yard work for church member.

There will be a sign up list in class Wednesday and Sunday. Please make plans to sign up and be there as many days as possible!

Weekly Update: 7/6/2011

ICCC Campers: Pray for our campers and counselors to have a safe week and increase in their spiritual growth. Campers will return to the building on Friday, July 8th between 6:00 & 6:30 PM.  Parents should expect a phone call when the group is one hour out from Waxahachie.

Kids for Christ: Sunday night, July 10th will be Family Movie Night.  Families with children in 6th grade and younger are encouraged to come.  Bring finger foods, a G-rated movie, blankets, air mattresses and/or lounge chairs to the fellowship hall following the evening service.

Summer Youth Series: Tuesday, July 12th, SYS will be at the Balch Springs Church of Christ.  The bus will leave the building at 5:30 PM and return at 9:30 PM.  Bring your Bible and a guest.  Dinner will be provided.

Multi Purpose Room: The MPR will be opened on Thursday, July 14th from 6 - 8:30 PM.  Bring your dinner and a friend.  Wear clothes suitable for a water activity.

SYS Update for July 5

Tuesday, July 5th, the SYS will be at the N. Glenn Heights Church of Christ (1207 Willow Run). We will not go as group, because of camp week, but if you are in town, please try to attend.  Directions to the church:  Take I-35 south from I-20; Take the Bear Creek Rd exit (Exit 412) onto the service road; Immediately turn right at the first street (Willow Run Dr); The church building is at the end of the street on the right side.
